Christmas:
Prince of Peace:

"I pray that you would find the true Prince of Peace this season, that you

Sympathy:
Let me, O Lord
Let me, O Lord, walk blindly on the path that you have traced.
I do not seek to understand Your guidance.

Sympathy:
"Lord make me the instrument of your peace; where there is hatred, let me
sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith,
where there is despair, hope, where there is darkness, light,
and where there is sadness, joy.”

“O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to
console, to be understood as to understand; to be loved, as to love;
or it is giving that we receive it is in pardoning that we are
pardoned and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Mourner Kaddish:
Glorified and sanctified be God's great name throughout the world which He
has created according to His will. May He establish His kingdom in
your lifetime and during your days, and within the life of the entire
House of Israel, speedily and soon; and say, Amen.

May His great name be blessed forever and to all eternity.

Blessed and praised, glorified and exalted, extolled and honored, adored
and lauded be the name of the Holy One, blessed be He, beyond
all the blessings and hymns, praises and consolations that are
ever spoken in the world; and say, Amen.

May there be abundant peace from heaven, and life, for us
and for all Israel; and say, Amen.

He who creates peace in His celestial heights, may He create peace for us
and for all Israel; and say, Amen.

Please consult with your local Orthodox Rabbi as to the proper time and
place to say Kaddish which requires a Minyan
(a quorum of ten adult male Jews).

Giving Thanks:
For the hay and the corn and the wheat that is reaped,
For the labor well done, and the barns that are heaped,
For the sun and the dew and the sweet honeycomb,
For the rose and the song and the harvest brought home --
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!

For the trade and the skill and the wealth in our land,
For the cunning and strength of the workingman's hand,
For the good that our artists and poets have taught,
For the friendship that hope and affection have brought --
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!

For the homes that with purest affection are blest,
For the season of plenty and well-deserved rest,
For our country extending from sea unto sea;
The land that is known as the "Land of the Free" --
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!

The Hebrew Prayer Book:
Though our mouths were full of song as the sea,
and our tongues of exultation as the multitude of its waves,
and our lips of praise as the wide-extended firmament;
though our eyes shone with light like the sun and the moon,
and our hands were spread forth like the eagles of heaven,
and out feet were swift as hinds,
we should still be unable to thank thee and bless thy name,
O Lord our God and God of our fathers,
for one thousandth or one ten thousandth part
of the bounties which thou has bestowed
upon our fathers and upon us.

St. Valentine's Day Prayer:
I said a Valentine prayer for you
and asked the Lord above
to fill your heart and bless your soul
With the precious gift of love.

I asked Him for sincere love
The kind that's meant to stay
Just like the generous love
You give to those you touch each day.

I prayed for love from family
And from every cherished friend
Then I asked the Lord to give you
His love that knows no end.

to thank the Lord above

of your tenderhearted love.

for the closeness we've enjoyed
in time of laughter and of tears.

And so, I thank you from the heart
for all you've done for me
and I bless the Lord for giving me
the best mother there could be!

A Prayer For Old Age:
GOD guard me from those thoughts men think
In the mind alone;
He that sings a lasting song
Thinks in a marrow-bone;

From all that makes a wise old man
That can be praised of all;
O what am I that I should not seem
For the song's sake a fool?

I pray - for word is out
And prayer comes round again -
That I may seem, though I die old,
A foolish, passionate man.

Fireman's Prayer:
When I am called to duty God
wherever flames may rage
give me strength to save a life
whatever be its age

Help me to embrace a little child
before it is too late
or save an older person from
the horror of that fate

Enable me to be alert
to hear the weakest shout
and quickly and efficiently
to put the fire out

I want to fill my calling and
to give the best in me
to guard my neighbor and
protect his property

And if according to your will
I have to lose my life
bless with your protecting hand
my loving family from strife

That Your hand would be with me, Your power and protection,
As I surrender to Your plan and follow Your direction.

For I have only my self to lose, but eternal reward to gain.

Native American Prayer for Peace:
Oh Great Spirit of our
Ancestors, I raise
my pipe to you.
To your messengers the four winds, and
to Mother Earth who provides
for your children.

Great Spirit Prayer:

Great Spirit, Great Spirit, My Grandfather,
All over the earth the faces of living things are all alike. . .
Look upon these faces of children without number
And with children in their arms,
That they may face the winds and
Walk the good road to the day of quiet. . .

There is no death. . .
Only a change of worlds. . .
Only a change of worlds.

Traditional Native American Prayer:

O Great Spirit,
whose voice I hear in the winds,
and whose breath gives life to all the world
-hear me-
I come before you, one of your children.
I am small and weak.
I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold
the red and purple sunset.
Make my hands respect the things you have made,
my ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make me wise, so that I may know the things
you have taught my People.
The lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock.
I seek strength not to be superior to my brothers,
but to be able to fight my greatest enemy,
myself.
Make me ever ready to come to you,
with clean hands and straight eyes,
so when life fades as a fading sunset,
my spirit may come to you without shame.

My Nurse's Prayer:
When I falter, give me courage.
When I tire, renew my strength.
When I weaken because I'm human,
Inspire me on to greater length.

If doctors and patients become demanding,
And days are too short for all my duty,
Help me remember I chose to serve,
To do so with grace, and spiritual beauty.

In humility, Lord, I labor long hours,
And though I sometimes may fret;
My mission is mercy.
Abide with me, that I may never forget.

The Courage To Go On..:
Dear God,
When I am lonely and,
Perhaps I feel despair.
Let not my ailing heart forget,
That YOU hear every prayer..

Remind me that no matter what,
I do or fail to do,
There still is hope for as long
As I have FAITH in YOU..

Let not my eyes be blinded by
Some folly I commit.
But help me to regret my wrong,
And to make up for it..

Inspire me to put my fears,
Upon a hidden shelf,
And in the future never to
Be sorry for myself.

Give me the restful sleep I need,
Before another dawn,
And bless me in the morning with
The Courage To Go On..

So that my prayer and speech are made whole
Through the life and the spirit of all growing things,
Which are made as one by their transcendent source.

A Memorial Day Prayer:
Eternal God,
Creator of years, of centuries,
Lord of whatever is beyond time,
Maker of all species and master of all history --
How shall we speak to you
from our smallness and inconsequence?
Except that you have called us to worship you
in spirit and in truth;
You have dignified us with loves and loyalties;
You have lifted us up with your loving kindnesses.
Therefore we are bold to come before you without groveling
(though we sometimes feel that low)
and without fear
(thought we are often anxious).
We sing with spirit and pray with courage
because you have dignified us;
You have redeemed us from the aimlessness
of things' going meaninglessly well.
God, lift the hearts of those
for whom this holiday is not just diversion,
but painful memory and continued deprivation.
Bless those whose dear ones have died
needlessly, wastefully (as it seems)
in accident or misadventure.
We remember with compassion those who have died
serving their countries
in the futility of combat.
There is none of us but must come to bereavement and separation,
when all the answers we are offered
fail the question death asks of each of us.
We believe that you will provide for us
as others have been provided with the fulfillment of
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted."

Five Finger Prayer:
Your thumb is nearest to you,
so begin your prayers by praying
for those closest to you.
They are the easiest to remember.
To pray for our loved ones is,
as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."

The next finger is the pointing finger.
Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal.
This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers.
They need support and wisdom in pointing others
in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

The next finger is the tallest finger.
It reminds us of our leaders.
Pray for the president, leaders in
business and industry, and administrators.
These people shape our nation and guide
public opinion. They need God's guidance.

The fourth finger is our ring finger.
Surprising to many is the fact that this
is our weakest finger; as any piano teacher
will testify. It should remind us to pray for those
who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your
prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

And lastly comes our little finger;
the smallest finger of all. This is where
we should place ourselves in relation to
God and others. As the Bible says,
"The least shall be the greatest among you."
Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself.

By the time you have prayed for the other four groups,
your own needs will be put into proper perspective
and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.
Should you find it hard to get to sleep tonight,
just remember the homeless family who has no bed to lie in.

Daily Prayer of a Physician:
("Prayer of Maimonides" attributed to Moses Maimonides, a twelfth-century Jewish physician in Egypt, but probably written by Marcus Herz, a German physician. First appeared in print in 1793. Translated by Harry Friedenwald in the Bulletin of the Johns Hopkins Hospital, 1917)

Almighty God, Thou has created the human body with infinite wisdom. Ten thousand times ten thousand organs hast Thou combined in it that act unceasingly and harmoniously to preserve the whole in all its beauty the body which is the envelope of the immortal soul. They are ever acting in perfect order, agreement and accord. Yet, when the frailty of matter or the unbridling of passions deranges this order or interrupts this accord, then forces clash and the body crumbles into the primal dust from which it came.

Thou sendest to man diseases as beneficent messengers to foretell approaching danger and to urge him to avert it. Thou hast blest thine earth, Thy rivers and Thy mountains with healing substances; they enable Thy creatures to alleviate their sufferings and to heal their illnesses. Thou hast endowed man with the wisdom to relieve the suffering of his brother, to recognize his disorders, to extract the healing substances, to discover their powers and to prepare and to apply them to suit every ill.

In Thine Eternal Providence Thou hast chosen me to watch over the life and health of Thy creatures. I am now about to apply myself to the duties of my profession. Support me, Almighty God, in these great labors that they may benefit mankind, for without Thy help not even the least thing will succeed. Inspire me with love for my art and for Thy creatures. Do not allow thirst for profit, ambition for renown and admiration, to interfere with my profession, for these are the enemies of truth and of love for mankind and they can lead astray in the great task of attending to the welfare of Thy creatures.

Preserve the strength of my body and of my soul that they ever be ready to cheerfully help and support rich and poor, good and bad, enemy as well as friend. In the sufferer let me see only the human being. Illumine my mind that it recognize what presents itself and that it may comprehend what is absent or hidden. Let it not fail to see what is visible, but do not permit it to arrogate itself the power to see what cannot be seen, for delicate and indefinite are the bounds of the great art of caring for the lives and health of Thy creatures. Let me never be absent-minded. May no strange thoughts divert my attention at the bedside of the sick, or disturb my mind in its silent labors, for great and sacred are the thoughtful deliberations required to preserve the lives and health of Thy creatures

Grant that my patients have confidence in me and my art and follow my directions and counsel. Remove from their midst all charlatans and the whole host of officious relatives and know-all nurses, cruel people who arrogantly frustrate the wisest purposes of our art and often lead Thy creatures to their death.

Should those who are wiser than I wish to improve and instruct me, let my soul gratefully follow their guidance; for vast is the extent of our art. Should conceited fools, however, censure me, then let love for my profession steel me against them, so that I remain steadfast without regard for age, for reputation, or for honor, because surrender would bring Thy creatures sickness and death.

Imbue my soul with gentleness and calmness when older colleagues, proud of their age, wish to displace me or scorn me or disdainfully teach me. May even this be of advantage to me, for they know many things of which I am ignorant, but let not their arrogance give me pain. For they are old and old age is not master of the passions. I also hope to attain old age upon this earth, before Thee, Almighty God!

Let me be contented in everything except in the great science of my profession. Never allow the thought to arise in me that I have attained to sufficient knowledge, but vouchsafe to me the strength, the leisure and the ambition ever to extend my knowledge. For art is great, but the mind of man is ever expanding.

Almighty God! Thou hast chosen me in Thy mercy to watch over the life and death of Thy creatures. I now apply myself to my profession. Support me in this great task so that it may benefit mankind, for without Thy help not even the least thing will succeed.

Morning Prayer:
Take the time to read this aloud. You'll be glad you did.
Relax and let God be the only Person
on your mind while you read this Prayer.

Dear Lord,
I thank you for this day. I thank you for my being able to see and hear this morning.
I'm blessed because you are a forgiving God and an understanding God.
You have done so much for me and you keep on blessing me.
Forgive me this day for I have sinned.
I ask now for you forgiveness.
Keep me safe from all danger, and harm.
Let me start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude.
Let me make the best of each and every day and give my best in all that is put before me.
Clear my mind that I can hear you.
Broaden my mind that I can accept all things.
Let me continue to see sin through God's eyes and acknowledge it is evil.
And when I sin, let me repent, and confess with my mouth my wrongdoing, and receive the forgiveness of God.
And when this world closes in on me, let me remember to slip away and find a quite place to pray.
It's the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits.
I know that when I can't pray, you listen to my heart.
Continue to use me to do thy will.
Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others.
Keep me strong that I may help the weak.
Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others.
I pray for those that are lost and can't find their way.
I pray for those who refuse to share a word from you.
I pray for those who don't know you intimately.
I pray for those that will only read this and not speak it aloud in their own lives.
I pray for those that will delete this without sharing it with others.
I pray for those that don't believe that God changes people and God changes things.
I pray for all my sisters and brothers.
For each and every family in their households.
I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes, that they are out of debt and all their needs are met.
I pray that every eye that ready this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God.
Every battle is in his hands for him to fight.
I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees them and every mouth that confesses them willingly.
This prayer in Jesus name. Amen.

Jesus said, "If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my father."
If you're not ashamed, pass this on.
But only if you mean it.
Yes, I do love God. He is my source of existence and Savior.
He keeps me functioning each and everyday.
Without him, I will be nothing.
Without him, I am nothing but with him i can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.

Prophet Muhammad - peace be upon him - 7th century:
Oh Allah!
I consult You as You are all Knowing,
and I seek ability from Your power and I ask you for Your great favor,
for You have power,
but I do not,
and You have knowledge,
but I do not,
and You know all hidden matters.

Oh Allah!
If You know that this matter is good for me in my religion,
my livelihood and my life in the Hereafter,
then make it easy and bless it;
and if You know that this matter is evil for me in my religion,
my livelihood and my life in the Hereafter,
then keep it away from me and keep me away from it,
and choose what is good for me wherever it is,
and make me pleased with it.

A Father's Prayer:
Build me a son, O Lord,
who will be strong enough to know when he is weak,
and brave enough to face himself when he is afraid;
one who will be proud and
unbending in honest defeat, and humble and gentle in victory.

Build me a son whose wishbone will not
be where his backbone should be;
a son who will know Thee and that to know himself
is the foundation stone of knowledge.

Lead him, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort,
but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge.
Here let him learn to stand up in the storm;
here let him learn compassion for those who fail.

Build me a son whose heart will be clean, whose goal will be high;
a son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men;
one who will learn to laugh, yet never forget how to weep;
one who will reach into the future, yet never forget the past.

And after all these things are his,
add, I pray, enough of a sense of humor,
so that he may always be serious, yet never take himself too seriously.
Give him humility, so that he may always remember the simplicity of greatness,
the open mind of true wisdom, the meekness of true strength.
Then I, his father, will dare to whisper, "I have not lived in vain".

A Simple Prayer:
Father,
I ask you to bless my friends reading this right now
Lord, show them a new revelation of Your love and power.
Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment.
Where there is pain, give them Your peace & mercy.
Where there is self-doubting, release a renewed confidence
in Your ability to work through them.

Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, I ask You to give them understanding,
patience, & strength as they learn submission to Your leading.

Where there is spiritual stagnation, I ask You to renew them by revealing
Your nearness, and by drawing them into greater intimacy with You.

Where there is fear, reveal Your love, and release to them Your courage.

Where there is a sin blocking them, reveal it,
and break its hold over my friend's life.

Bless their finances, give them greater vision, and raise up leaders,
and friends to support, and encourage them.

Give each of them discernment to recognize the demonic forces around them,
and reveal to them the power they have in You to defeat it.

God's Love a Story & Prayer:

It's beautiful and the prayer at the end is something we all need to do to God for the benefit of each other.

In September 1960, I woke up one
morning with six hungry babies and just 75 cents in my pocket.
Their father was gone. The boys ranged from three months to seven
years; their sister was two.

Their Dad had never been much more than a presence they feared.
Whenever they heard his tires crunch on the gravel driveway they would
scramble to hide under their beds. He did manage to leave $15 a week
to buy groceries. Now that he had decided to leave, there would be no
more beatings, but no food either. If there was a welfare system in
effect in southern Indiana at that time, I certainly knew nothing about it.

I scrubbed the kids until they looked brand new and then put on my best
homemade dress. I loaded them into the rusty old 51 Chevy and drove
off to find a job. The seven of us went to every factory, store and
restaurant in our small town. No luck.

The kids stayed crammed into the car and tried to be quiet while I
tried to convince whomever would listen that I was willing to learn
or do anything. I had to have a job. Still no luck.

The last place we went to, just a few miles out of town, was an old Root
Beer Barrel driven that had been converted to a truck stop. It was called
the Big Wheel. An old lady named Granny owned the place and she peeked
out of the window from time to time at all those kids. She needed someone
on the graveyard shift, 11 at night until seven in the morning. She paid
65 cents an hour and I could start that night. I raced home and
called the teenager down the street that baby-sat for people.
I bargained with her to come and sleep on my sofa for a dollar a night.
She could arrive with her pajamas on and the kids would already be asleep.
This seemed like a good arrangement to her, so we made a deal.

That night when the little ones and I knelt to say our prayers we all
thanked God for finding Mommy a job. And so I started at the Big Wheel.
When I got home in the mornings I woke the baby-sitter up and sent her
home with one dollar of my tip money fully half of what I averaged every
night.

As the weeks went by, heating bills added a strain to my meager wage.
The tires on the old Chevy had the consistency of penny balloons and began
to leak. I had to fill them with air on the way to work and again every
morning before I could go home.

One bleak fall morning, I dragged myself to the car to go home and found
four tires in the back seat. New tires! There was no note, no nothing,
just those beautiful brand new tires. Had angels taken up residence in Indiana?

I wondered. I made a deal with the owner of the local service station.
In exchange for his mounting the new tires, I would clean up his office.
I remember it took me a lot longer to scrub his floor than it did for him
to do the tires.

I was now working six nights instead of five and it still wasn't enough.
Christmas was coming and I knew there would be no money for toys for
the kids.

I found a can of red paint and started repairing and painting some old
toys. Then I hid them in the basement so there would be something for
Santa to deliver on Christmas morning. Clothes were a worry too.
I was sewing patches on top of patches on the boys pants and soon
they would be too far gone to repair.

On Christmas Eve the usual customers were drinking coffee in the Big
Wheel. These were the truckers, Lees, Frank, and Jim, and a state
trooper named Joe. A few musicians were hanging around after a gig
at the Legion and were dropping nickels in the pinball machine.
The regulars all just sat around and talked through the wee hours of
the morning and then left to get home before the sun came up.

When it was time for me to go home at seven o'clock on Christmas morning
I hurried to the car. I was hoping the kids wouldn't wake up before I
managed to get home and get the presents from the basement and place
them under the tree. (We had cut down a small cedar tree by the side of the
road down by the dump.)

It was still dark and I couldn't see much, but there appeared to be some
dark shadows in the car-or was that just a trick of the night?
Something certainly looked different, but it was hard to tell what.
When I reached the car I peered warily into one of the side windows.
Then my jaw dropped in amazement.

My old battered Chevy was filled full to the top with boxes of all shapes
and sizes. I quickly opened the driver's side door, scrambled inside and
kneeled in the front facing the back seat. Reaching back, I pulled off the
lid of the top box. Inside was whole case of little blue jeans, sizes
2-10! I looked inside another box: It was full of shirts to go with
the jeans. Then I peeked inside some of the other boxes: There was candy
and nuts and bananas and bags of groceries. There was an enormous ham for
baking, and canned vegetables and potatoes. There was pudding and jello
and cookies, pie filling and flour. There was a whole bag of laundry
supplies and cleaning items. And there were five toy trucks and one
beautiful little doll.

As I drove back through empty streets as the sun slowly rose on the
most amazing Christmas Day of my life, I was sobbing with gratitude. And I
will never forget the joy on the faces of my little ones that precious
morning.

Yes, there were angels in Indiana that long-ago December.
And they all hung out at the Big Wheel truck stop.
THE POWER OF PRAYER When you receive this, say a prayer.
This prayer will do. That's all you have to do. There is nothing attached.

Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive.

There is no cost but a lot of rewards.

Let's continue praying for one another.

Father, I ask you to bless my friends reading this right now.
Lord, show them a new revelation of Your love and power. Holy Spirit,
I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment.
Where there is pain! give them Your peace &mercy.
Where there is self doubting, release a renewed confidence in your
ability to work through them.

Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, I ask You to give them
understanding, patience, & strength as they learn submission to your
leading. Where there is spiritual stagnation, I ask you to renew
them by revealing your nearness, and by drawing them into greater
intimacy with you. Where there is fear, reveal your love, and release
to them your courage.

Where there is a sin blocking them, reveal it, and break its hold over my friend's life. Bless their finances, give them greater vision, and raise up leaders, and friends to support, and encourage them. Give each of them discernment to recognize the demonic forces around them, and reveal to them the power they have in you to defeat it. I ask you to do these things in Jesus' name. Amen. An Affirmation of Our Faith:
As men of God, Creator and Maker of All,
we are determined to STAND!
We are Strong and Weak
Rich and Poor;

Do not define us by what we do
and who we know;
We belong to God.

We love the Lord and our families,
We plant and build and play.
We are STRONG.
Even when we hurt so bad that
if we cried out in pain All creation
would groan;
The earth would tremble and shake-
We hold our pain in -
and pretend it's not there

Don't let our masks make you think
we don't care;
We care, We care deeply
We're proud of our fathers, natural and adopted
We honor and respect our mothers at home and afar
Our sisters and brothers are closer than many
Our friends share our growing pains
and make us laugh.
Our wives and partners share a bond with us,
and intimacy with us and God.
Our children are our seed, the essence of our love.
We are ourselves, noble and free,
Bold warriors, gentle guides,
Searching for our destiny.

We remember our history.
We inherit the evils of slavery and racism
We remember the time we've been
"buked and scorned",
The times our parents were humiliated
We remember that Jesus truly loves us.
We know that as men, we can STAND TALL,
Love,
Organize,
Create,
Be Somebody,
Do Good,
We are already somebody!
With God's grace we can save
our churches,
our communities,
Our boys,
Our girls,
OURSELVES.

A Prayer from Africa:
You are the great God of all the earth and the heavens.
We are so insignificant.
In us there are many defects.
But the power is yours to make and to do what we cannot do.
You know all about us.
For coming down to earth you were despised and mocked, and brutally treated
because of the same defects in the men of those days.
For those men you prayed,
because they did not understand what they were doing.
You came only for what was right.

Give us the courage to struggle in the same way for what is right.
0 Lord., help us who roam about.
Help us who have been placed in Africa and have no dwelling place of our own.
Give us a dwelling place. 0 God, all power is yours in heaven and earth. Amen.

A Christmas Prayer:
Loving Father,
Help us remember the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds,
and worship of the wise men.

Close the door of hate
and open the door of love all over the world.
Let kindness come with every gift
and good desires with every greeting.
Deliver us from evil by the blessing
which Christ brings,
and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.

May the Christmas morning
make us happy to be thy children,
and Christmas evening bring us to our beds
with grateful thoughts,
forgiving and forgiven,
for Jesus' sake.

Amen.

A Cop on the Take:
First he takes the oath.
Now look at all he takes---

He takes it in stride when people call him a pig.
He takes time to stop and talk to children.
He takes your verbal abuse while giving you a ticket that you deserve...
He takes on creeps that you would be afraid to even look at.

He takes time away from his family to keep you safe.
He takes your injured children to the hospital.
He takes the graveyard shift without complaint because it's his turn.
He takes his life into his hands daily.

He takes you home when your car breaks down.
He takes time to explain why both of your headlights have to work.
He takes the job that no one else wants---
telling you that a loved one has died.

He takes criminals to jail.
He takes in sights that would make you cry.
Sometimes he cries too, but he takes it anyway because someone has to.

If he is lucky, he takes a retirement.
He takes memories to bed each night,
that you couldn't bear for one day!
Sometimes he takes a bullet.
And yes, occasionally he takes a free cup of coffee.
Then one day he pays for all he has taken...

GOD takes him!

A Teacher's Prayer:
I want to teach my students how
To live this life on Earth.
To face it's struggles and it's strife
And to improve their worth.
Not just the lesson in a book
Or how the rivers flow,
But how to choose the proper path
Wherever they may go.
To understand eternal truth
And know the right from wrong,
And gather all the beauty of
A flower and a song.
For if I help the world to grow
In wisdom and in grace,
Then I shall feel that I have won
And I have filled my place.
And so I ask your guidance, God,
That I may do my part.
For character and confidence
And happiness of heart.

The Best Day of My Life:
Today, when I awoke, I suddenly realized that this is the best day of my life, ever.

There were times when I wondered if I would make it to today; but I did! And because I did I'm going to celebrate!
Today, I'm going to celebrate what an unbelievable life I have had so far. The accomplishments, the many blessings, and, yes, even the hardships because they have served to make me stronger.

I will go through this day with my head held high and a happy heart.
I will marvel at God's seemingly simple gifts:

the morning dew,

the clouds,

the trees,

the flowers,

the birds.

Today, none of these miraculous creations will escape my notice.
Today, I will share my excitement for life with other people.
I'll make someone smile.
I'll go out of my way to perform an unexpected act of kindness for someone I don't even know. Today, I'll give a sincere compliment to someone who seems down. I'll tell a child how special he is, and I'll tell someone I love just how deeply I care for them and how much they mean to me.

Today is the day I quit worrying about what I don't have and start being grateful for all the wonderful things God has already given me. I'll remember that to worry is just a waste of time because my faith in God and his Divine Plan ensures everything will be just fine.

And tonight, before I go to bed, I'll go outside and raise my eyes to the heavens. I will stand in awe at the beauty of the stars and the moon, and I will praise God for these magnificent treasures.

As the day ends and I lay my head down on my pillow,
I will thank the Almighty for the best day of my life. And I will sleep the sleep of a contented child, excited with expectation because I know tomorrow is going to be the best day of my life, ever!
